This is where it ends…and begins!

I have purposely held off posting anything until the end of January because hopefully some of you will have derailed from your well-intentioned but maybe unrealistic New Years Resolutions.  And you know what?  That’s perfectly all right, from my point of view.  At the beginning of every year, I see a manic turn towards shakes, pills, exercise regimens, drops, laser treatments, hypnosis…all toward the goal of weight loss.

But here’s the question:  Where does it stop?  And where does that leave you if you are – for whatever reason – unable to achieve that goal you set for yourself?  Are you going to be all right with the let down, or will it leave you on that endless quest for more, setting yourselves up for more disappointment?

That’s not to say that everyone who sets a weight loss goal shouldn’t or can’t achieve their goals, but I do think that there should be some kind of Plan B to go with Plan A.  Perhaps Plan B could be your decision to not damn yourself for not being able to commit or reach your intended outcome.  Perhaps Plan B could better be described as learning to accept yourself, no matter what your size or shape, and being able to hold your head high regardless of your size.

Through this blog, I hope to engender that very kind of feeling.  Not all of us, after all, are meant to have a Kardashian butt, or Angelina’s lips, or JLo’s hips.  What we are meant to do is accept our beauty as it already is.  To know that living a healthy lifestyle is tantamount to living a HAPPY lifestyle.

I hope you’ll join me on this journey and look forward to your contributions to this blog as we learn through our collective experiences that who we are is actually who we were meant to be: a work in progress.
